Risk assessment is an integral component of any holistic Occupational Therapy assessment and interventions. Opportunities for rehabilitation, quality of life and inclusion will usually involve an element of risk. Thus we can offer a risk assessment for an individual, to identify the potential risks of possible harm to that person or to others. A risk assessment is a comprehensive assessment which includes identification of the likelihood of that harm occurring, the potential severity of the adverse health affects and persons who might be affected by the situation. On completion of a thorough risk assessment we are able to determine what action would be reasonable to manage the risks identified and if possible prevent such risk occurring. All recommendations from the assessment are discussed and a written report is completed.
